Wide Application: The firepot is one of the most important tools in a blacksmith’s workshop. Ideal for forging hammers, punches, tongs and other metalworking jobs with the help of a hand crank blower.
Upgrade Design: The assembled firepot weighs about 40 pounds and uses with a clinker breaker, weighted ash dump, and air-inlet pipe. The ash dump/air pipe system is one piece and bolted to the firepot. Disassembled firepot require a 9/16″ socket/wrench to connect the ash dump and clinker breaker.
Firepot: Inside dimensions are approximately 10″ x 12″ x 3.5″. Constructed entirely from 1/2″ thick plasma cut plate steel, welded inside and out. The lip is 1/4-inch plate steel. Ideal for forging where there are at least a 10.5″ x 12.25″ rectangular hole.
Ash Dump: 12″ long, 3.5″ square. It has two tabs on it for fixing two 3/8″ bolts to the firepot. (Bolts included) It has a weighted ash dump door that allows you to dump coal ash fed through the clinker breaker. The air inlet pipe is 3″ round (outer diameter) and 4″ long.
Clinker Breaker: Constructed from a piece of 1/2″ thick steel plate with a 1/2″ round steel handle. It fits in a slot in the ash dump. The round hole in the bottom of the firepot is 3″ in diameter and the clinker breaker is 2.5″ in diameter, leaving a 1/4″ slot around it to let air from the blower into the firepot.
